Nsoroma EduMate Technologies sets up in Hohoe as the town's first tech startup

Newly incorporated in Accra, the company has made Hohoe in Ghana's Volta Region its home, proving that world-class software can be built far from the capital.

Nsoroma EduMate Technologies, incorporated in Accra in early 2025, has set up its base in Hohoe in Ghana's Volta Region. It is the first technology startup in the town.

Why Hohoe

Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. By building in Hohoe rather than the capital, we want to show that world-class technology companies can grow outside the usual tech hubs, and create opportunities for young people in the Volta Region.

Starting with education

The company's first product is EduMate Africa, an AI teaching and learning platform aligned to national curricula. It is built offline-first, so it works for teachers and students on the networks and devices they actually use.

From this base in Hohoe, the team plans to build a portfolio of platforms across education, business and everyday life.
